As per the exclusive details received by the Market Times sowing of wheat has increased by 29% to 17400 hectares. Last year during the same period the sowing was only in 13500 hectares.
For ongoing season sowing of wheat target was reduced to 30 lakh hectare against 32 lakh in the previous year.Average sowing area during the last five years was at 27.50 lakh hectares.
